Last year, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was set to launch iPhone apps related to sports and news. However, the apps were never released. The BBC Trust has now asked the broadcaster to delay plans of launching any such apps till the case is assessed.
The BBC has faced criticism for its plans to create the apps, mostly by other companies who feel it is not fair since the broadcaster is funded by taxpayers. The corporation had planned to build apps for the iPhone, and afterwards, even for the Android and BlackBerry phones.
