Amazon’s app Kindle for iPad has arrived at the App Store. The app has Amazon’s Whispersync technology, which allows for syncing of the last read page, bookmarks, highlights and notes. The app has been modified for the iPad and includes a new animated page-turning, a library view with zoom and scrolling, and changeable screen brightness.
In a press release, Amazon has mentioned that there are three different background colors to choose from, and the font color and size can be altered within the app, for a better reading experience. Kindle’s launch competes directly with the iBookstore, intensifying the battle between Apple and Amazon.
