Rumors about Apple planning to develop an alternative to Flash have begun to surface. According to a report by AppleInsider, Gianduia was introduced by Apple last year, and is a “standards- based framework for rich Internet apps“.
Apple has been using Gianduia for several of its retail support apps like the iPhone reservation system, and the One to One program, and the Concierge program for Genius Bar and Personal Shopping reservations. The technology was apparently introduced at Apple’s World of WebObjects Developer Conference.
