VRI is one of the world’s largest centers for the practice of Vipassana meditation, offering ongoing 10-day courses, and serving up to 600 people at a time throughout the year. VRI also works on translating and publishing Pali texts (the classical language in which Gautam Buddha taught), and researches into the application of Vipassana in daily life.
Formerly known as Child Relief and You, CRY is an independent, secular, non-political, not-for-profit organization in India. CRY works towards restoring the basic rights to children, and works across levels from direct action to advocacy, mobilizing public opinion and policy change.
HelpAge India is a non-religious, non-profit organization, serving the needs of the elderly in India for more than 30 years. HelpAge helps to protect the rights of India’s estimated 90 million “grey” population and provides relief to them through various interventions, directly impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands through their services every year.
The Liver Foundation, founded by a group of doctors and social activists, works towards facilitating, advocating and promoting education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
